I assembled a PC for someone else. I’ve made PCs before both personally and for others, yet at times I’m uncertain about certain details, so I turn to the community for advice.

I suggested using a Cooler Master CMP 510 as the case, paired with an ASRock B650 PG Lightning motherboard. The case includes three RGB fans linked through Molex connectors, and the RGB is controlled by a button on the controller (as shown in a YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nBbsQP3jCg&t=590s).

I’m wondering if it’s possible to connect the RGB directly to the motherboard. The setup uses a splitter for the three fans, and I want to know whether this is safe. I believe I should keep the Molex power connection for the fans as it is.

The video isn’t in English, but I think you can follow my intentions from around the 6-minute mark.

Fans are being operated through the Molex connections to enable rotation. It seems acceptable to leave them as is or connect the three pins on each fan to the motherboard for enhanced speed management. The lighting setup is likely a standard 3-pin ARGB configuration. It appears to utilize the same controller found with several Cooler Master products I've previously owned. It should be possible to connect that directly to the ARGB header on your motherboard to manage them accordingly. Yes, it's safe to link multiple 3 ARGB fans via a single ARGB header since the lighting consumes minimal power.
