This won't function without the dongle, unless the controller supports an optional wired connection.

Check if the device supports cable connections and see if it charges properly. If it only charges without any data transfer, the cable might not be suitable.

The manual indicates this cable is intended solely for charging purposes. A dongle is required to operate it.
