Can I harm a file during the process of using and seeding?
Can you confirm if using a downloaded file while seeding it simultaneously is safe?
It depends on the context of "using" it. I think seeding should remain read-only. Using might allow write access, which could risk corrupting the seed. I'm not sure.
Also, I must note that Tom's Forums does not support assistance with pirate activities. Any questions about questionable peer-to-peer use will be addressed.
The only case where both downloading and seeding might fail together is when the download destination is sent to a slow or unreliable USB thumb drive that can't manage many input requests. Even then, most torrent programs can restrict how fast downloads or seeds happen if the storage device becomes unstable.
