Can I further increase my GPU's performance by overclocking again after enabling the XMP profile?
Hi guys,
After updating the BIOS, I didn't notice XMP was turned off automatically. I've been using 2133 MHz continuously instead of the default 3600 MHz from two weeks ago. Now everything works properly at 3600 MHz. I also overclocked my GPU (KFA2 RTX 2070 SUPER) to its highest setting while using 2133 MHz RAM. My question is: Can my GPU now achieve a higher maximum clock speed if I try overclocking in small increments?
I wouldn't believe overclocking memory would influence the maximum overclock a discrete GPU can reach, regardless of the outcome. HOWEVER, the heat generated by an overclocked GPU might slightly destabilize memory that's already pushed to its limits, causing it to fail if it runs out of energy, leading you to think the GPU is unstable when it crashes.
