I own an Inspiron 15 3505, which is a bit unusual. The most appealing part of this laptop is its price around 50k INR (~700$). It comes with 8Gb RAM, an AMD Ryzen 7 3700 U processor (well-cooled), a 250GB NVMe SSD, and an average GPU. I noticed the available RAM is only 6GB, which is limiting me. I’m trying to upgrade it but can’t increase the RAM further. This is creating a memory bottleneck for me. I need help updating the BIOS in the linked picture below. Hope someone similar has encountered this issue!

Leave the allocation alone and add another 8GB of ram. Make sure you get an antistatic wrist band if your going to open it up there is a tiny chance you could cause damage from static electricity. This might be similar to you system.

Explore all configuration options in the bios and check for mentions of shared memory, VRAM, video RAM or graphics memory.

Unless the system has received a significant update, the search function isn<|pad|>. These options appear prior to the machine starting up. Upon initial power-on, you’ll typically encounter a blank display with guidance on which key to press to access the BIOS. This process may be quick—try toggling the power on and off a few times to listen for instructions. After identifying the correct key, restart the device and continue pressing it until the BIOS interface loads instead of Windows.

That laptop likely offers very limited customization. Budget models usually provide minimal BIOS settings options.

You should be able to increase your RAM to 16GB.
