Background: My Dell XPS 9550 with the i7 chip stopped working (not a topic for debate).
Summary: I want to transfer my 1TB OEM SSD from the XPS 9550 into my wife's Dell SPX 9560, which also includes a 1TB OEM SSD. This is simply swapping the drives.
Question: Considering how alike these laptops are, what chances exist for me to boot the XPS 9560 using the SSD from the XPS 9550 after only the swap?
Follow up question: If it works out, are there steps I can take to improve the boot process or reduce future problems?
Notes:
-Both machines run Windows 10 OEM (installed with the PC)
-Possibly more drivers and updates were installed on the older XPS 9550 compared to the newer one, since she uses it less
-The SSD seems to be working properly (files accessible after placement in an external case)

Did you try this out? How did it turn out? I just got water on my 9550 and think it might be damaged. I'm looking for the easiest replacement—what type of SSD should fit and work without issues? I'd like something from a newer model, like the 9560 or 9570, but I'm cautious about any problems.
