Can I avoid having to re-download a game from Steam when using it as a Windows app?
I had a lot of thieves on game pass, it ran out, now I bought the game on Steam. Is there any way someone can assist me in moving the game files to the Steam games folder so I can save time on my download? I have access and can see the files, but I’m not sure what to do next if I can help.
I think this approach wouldn't be effective. UWP files are stored differently from regular apps, which means it wouldn't be a straightforward solution. That's why the method I demonstrated earlier is necessary.
Missing an active game pass could require going through more steps.
Seems you need to use an app called UWPHook -

Yeah but I thought it was just steam identifying the game, but it still starts through windows. I don’t have the right to run it as a windows app anymore since my game pass is gone. Isn’t that what happens?
i'm not really sure about how it all functioned, but you might be right.
i came across links for saving save games
windows applications are kept in unusual formats and it's not just about locating game files. steam games are simpler to reuse or transfer.
I believe there might be risks if I simply paste everything into the folder Steam generates for the game and check it.

Does it begin under Windows when you launch it via Steam? I want to know if it appears in Steam. You should remove the .exe and possibly .dll files from the main folder since that would be linked to the Windows Store and their piracy safeguards, then confirm and allow Steam to download the correct files.
