I’d really like to attempt playing the new Assassin’s Creed game, though it seems quite challenging. Could a Vega 56 equipped with an Intel Core i5 8400 handle running it in 1080p at 60 frames per second or higher?

I believe it should handle 1440p at over 60 fps without issues. Do you already have these components ready, or are you putting everything together?

Assassin's Creed runs poorly due to its high CPU usage. It would be wise to look at benchmark results to compare with others. Your graphics card should handle it without issues.

Absolutely, it's possible. You'll need to tweak the settings slightly. The Vega56 remains a solid card, particularly in 1080p. If you own the PC, just run it and have fun.

I'd check this video for precise figures, but you might achieve better results through overclocking. Jump to 4:30 if you're focusing on the VEGA 56.

The Vega 56 isn't the main issue; the CPU is what will restrict the frame rate.

Along with a 1080 I managed to achieve 4k30fps using a mix of high and very high settings on an i5 8400. It can handle 1080p60 well, though be careful with shadows, volumetric clouds, and ambient occlusion.
Edit: The DF guide for 1080p60 is definitely worth checking out.
