Hi there, I have a laptop that is plugged into a loose electrical outlet. My questions are: Is this bad for my computer? Will it cause a short circuit? Will the laptop or the power plug get hurt first? And will this damage my machine over time?

Is it possible to buy and make an AVR? Where do you get one, how old is it in condition, what specs does it have? Hey friends here: https://boomspeaker.com/avr-vs-surge-protector From the AVR text: "AVR catches those little spikes in electricity and keeps the normal power going. So, it stops problems that bad power rules or lightning would ruin your stuff. [My underline.] If the wall outlet is loose and the laptop plug is shaking around then that movement might cause exactly the issues the AVR is meant to stop. Any wiggle on a cord is a problem right away. The effects could be worse than you think but I won't keep using a bad socket. Just some thoughts about this."

Regular stuff can be great, bad, or just okay. Even the fancy stuff isn't always perfect... what works well depends on many things like how good it is, how long it lasts, and if it's safe to use. You need to check why your laptop plug isn't fitting right—maybe it's not tight enough in the socket of an old AVR or maybe the cable itself is damaged. If that's the case, give back the three-week-old unit so someone else can fix the problem. Maybe there are other issues at play too. But just try a different one instead to see if it works better.
