I received this cooler for free from a family member. I’m thinking about purchasing a Ryzen system with the 1500x, but the Deepcool Captain 120 isn’t compatible with AM4. I’m trying to use the cooler and don’t have the money for another one. I’m considering upgrading to the stock cooler now, but I’m unsure if it’s worth it. Should I go ahead and modify the Captain 120? Also, do you know if Deepcool will release a mounting bracket for the Captain 120?

The model is marked as discontinued on their site, which means the odds of a specific AM4 bracket working are low.
Nevertheless, if the components on their latest coolers (or the EX version) match the design, there could be a possibility that your AM4 bracket would fit.
The best approach is to reach out directly for confirmation.
