I'm trying to fix something weird for a friend who had trouble with their Corsair Ironclaw RGB mouse. It's plugged in and working until they move the mouse, at which point the iCUE app changes settings again. They need to go back to where it was before manually because of this switch. We tried fixing it together but can't solve it yet. The system is running version 4.13.223. I told them to change where that profile switch button goes, turned the button off so they couldn't accidentally move settings, restarted both their PC and iCUE app, unplugged an extra mouse to check for power problems, and took out the Ironclaw. Even after trying all those tricks nothing fixed it. They said there is no other software to control lights and that the new Corsair replaced a Razer Naga which had its software removed from their PC. I'm thinking maybe they should delete iCUE completely and then install an older version instead of this newest one.

Where can he choose his lighting in Icue? He doesn't need a mouse, but he has one called K70 which isn't exactly like the others on the menu. It might have two kinds of lights: the first kind comes from the light itself when Icue is turned on, and the second kind saves its settings to the mouse's memory. To stop it automatically switching profiles, maybe he needs to go into the device settings and check for a firmware update? The same screen on the K70 lets him reset the built-in profiles too. So you could set colors just for the mouse and still use it with Icue without any problems.

We tried deleting the profiles, but because the mouse had some saved profiles from before, iCUE would just use those instead when you pressed a button. I actually came up with an idea where I made one special profile, then copied it to all the other profiles on my mouse so that no matter what changed, iCUE picked up that same copy and did nothing but keep working normally.
