Call of Duty: Warzone GTX 1060 struggles with low frame rates
Hello.
I'm experiencing low frame rates in Warzone, reaching up to 60 fps in low quality or empty zones but dropping to 45 fps elsewhere, even though graphics settings are set to minimal. The issue persists despite using Anti-aliasing at T2X.
My current setup is:
Gpu: gtx 1060 6gb from msi
Cpu: i5 4590s
Ram: 16gb DDR3 1600mhz (8x2)
Mb: Asus z97 deluxe
If the problem stems from my CPU or RAM, let me know what to upgrade. Please note my motherboard can't support CPUs beyond the 5th generation. If a motherboard upgrade is needed, inform me too.
My budget is approximately 500€.
In Warzone, your processor is the least efficient because it can utilize more cores.
If the CPU is limiting your performance, you'll need a new memory module and processor.
Hello. Your CPU usage is at 100% in the game. Is it correct that your current CPU is responsible for achieving 45 fps? Also, how do you estimate the frame rate if you upgrade to a Ryzen 7 3xxx while keeping the GTX 1060 with 6GB of VRAM?
If the CPU usage in the game is at 100%, it seems like it might be limiting your performance.
Just for fun, what about the GPU usage?
Those CPU and memory stats feel quite old-fashioned.
I’d upgrade just in case I end up getting held back on many games later with that setup.
Hi... you can also try these settings with your GTX 1060:
- Keep all settings low, avoid very low values
- Choose AA to SMAA TX2 Filmic
- Turn on "dynamic framerate resolution target"
- Adjust the dynamic frame rate slider to 300
- Set NVIDIA Relex low latency to medium
These adjustments helped me achieve a better playable experience. It might look a bit cartoonish at first, but you'll get used to it.
Warzone isn't well optimized, and the FPS drops you notice are normal because of the map decorations. Try checking out Nakatomi Plaza's glass roof with many trees—it shows how the frame rate drops there. The developers haven't optimized the code much since changing large sections would be hard, especially with frequent updates and new textures... it requires time and team coordination (possibly remote work due to COVID).
