Cables Ethernet
I’ve got a fresh setup with a network box and both coax and Ethernet cables. Since you only have one Ethernet port at home, it’s possible the cables were routed elsewhere. Checking the wall for the coax port might help, but if not, they could have run them to another location or used a different method.
Ah, I see where the confusion came in. The setup was straightforward: the ARRIS handles the modem, which connects to the Internet Service Provider. The freezer-rack style device is the router, sending the internet signal throughout your home. Those cables you have are likely from a previous installation—maybe the owner just took out the wall plate and reinserted the wires. The small ones resemble old phone lines (RJ11), which are probably no longer in use. Usually, those phone lines end up on a wall plate, but it’s possible someone removed it and tucked the cable back in.
