You're facing a compatibility issue with your USB cables. The pins don't align properly between the USB 3.0 header and USB 2.0 connector, which is why it's problematic. It seems the problem stems from a documented issue with certain hubs, like the Asus B650e-e, when using a powered internal hub with a 2.0 port. The good news is that the hub still functions if connected differently. You might want to verify the pin layout of your cable or consider using a different hub setup to ensure proper functionality.

If the rear I/O on the Asus motherboard fails, you might consider sending it back for replacement. I'm trying to understand your problem better.

The rear I/O USB ports cease functioning when connected to a NZXT internal powered hub via a USB 2.0 header. Removing the hub restores normal operation. This issue has been noted on Asus forums and isn't resolvable through an RMA because it stems from the board model itself. I'm exploring alternatives to connect the hub elsewhere instead of using a USB 2.0 header.

Asus has received much attention regarding the quality of their 12th generation Intel motherboards. I found the Jayztwocentz video titled "I'm sorry Asus, but you're fired." That clarifies what you meant. On Reddit, users discussed various solutions for your motherboard, including alternatives from other boards. Some suggested the nzxt internal hub and others recommended a discrete USB card. Please see the link for more details.
