I'm just wondering why C3 was the only setting I turned on to let my CPU reach 4.3 GHz instead of 4.0. With C-state off, my PC runs smoother and faster. I understand it's a power-saving feature, but why does that matter? Do others do this too? My CPU is an Intel 10400i5, and I've disabled CPU parking.
Elite Knight supports all Intel Core i processors from 2008 onwards. To achieve peak performance, they require either C3, C6 or C7 enabled. This is built into the original architecture. Idle cores must switch to low-power states, which conserves energy and lets active cores operate more efficiently. The fewer inactive cores there are, the quicker the active ones can process tasks. Every locked non-K series CPU in Intel has this restriction. Many users overlook it.
