C: Initiate 100% Usage Freeze on Computer
While engaging in a more challenging game, my PC screen froze. Still, I could control the mouse and audio from the game and a web browser (such as YouTube) functioned normally. However, Discord sound stopped working. In Task Manager, the C: drive usage jumps to 100% during this incident, while read and write speeds remain at 0 KB/s. Later, in Event Viewer -> Windows Logs -> System, warnings appeared. The first warned about a disk operation at address 0x26e6058 for Disk 3 (device name: Device\0000004b) being retried. It mentioned the source was "disk" and noted Disk 3 as my C: drive, with a different address each time. This was followed by: "Reset to device, RaidPort0 was issued." According to CrystalDiskInfo, all drives (including SSDs and two HDDs) appear healthy. Despite this, the issue occurred across two SSDs after several Windows reinstalls. My AM4 chipset and graphics drivers are up to date. Specific details: Windows 11 Home 24H2 MSI B550 A-Pro AMD Ryzen 9 5900x 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3600MHz (problem continues even with XMP enabled). XFX Speedster SWFT 210 AMD RX6600 Crucial MX500 500GB Western Digital Blue 1TB Western Digital Blue 2TB (x2) EVGA BR 700 (700W 80+ Bronze). I apologize if this has been shared before; I haven’t found anyone with identical symptoms and might be missing something. I’ll update if more information comes up.
It looks like we covered everything. You both did a great job.
