C and D sections continuously exchange characters
C and D sections continuously exchange characters
C and D partitions exchanged their letters. The previous D now acts like C, while the old C (windows drive) became D. I attempted to fix it using diskpart by changing the letter for the current C (old D) and restoring the windows drive. It confirmed the change was applied, but upon rebooting, the letters reversed again. I can't access Windows now, and since the GPT disk is used with UEFI support, there’s no way to log in. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
According to common practice, the first drive selected determines the initial letter.
What's the issue? Both C and D share the same drive (1tb barracuda). Let me know how I can help resolve it.
The windows was working properly until it stopped responding, so I had to restart it. I tried the first repair tool "bootrec /fixboot," but it showed "Access is denied." Also, I’m not clear about what rebuilding the MBR means—I’m not very familiar with this process.
