I own the Xfinity service you mentioned. I don’t refer to it as gigabit since its upload speed is 40mbps. I recently replaced my networking equipment with an 8-port Netgear Gigabit switch, skipping the Gigabit ports on my Netgear router. Everything connects via the Xfi Xfinity wireless router cable modem.
Uncertain about the source of the 60 Mbps upload speed. The quickest I’ve heard from Comcast is around 45 Mbps, though luckily. Officially, the plan supports a 35 Mbps upload limit. Regarding the maximum, you could possibly qualify for a free data promotion worth $25 per month for a year, otherwise expect an additional $50 monthly fee for unlimited. Still, with the $10 per 50 GB pricing, you’d need to hit at least 250 Gb over the cap before it makes sense.
It's accurate at 35-45Mbps. Still weighing the move, unsure about the impact of the slow upload (no Plex server or similar).
I’m working with a setup that supports 10 Mbps upload. It functions fine, even though Comcast is the only provider nearby. My Plex server is currently disabled for internet sharing. I purchased it with the goal of reducing bandwidth consumption to stay within limits. We experienced some months where we approached those caps. A NAS is coming soon, and I intend to install Plex there. I also have extra storage on my network. I’ll back up my Steam library to that device since restoring it would take a significant amount of time—over a year—for the 600+ gigabytes in my Steam apps folder.
