CPUs are silent. The issue is probably related to power supply on the motherboard or graphics card when you're using it heavily, like playing games.
It’s possible your VRM is the issue. Back then, people often blamed the VRM for ticking sounds during overclocking. I was just starting out and shared a post, but others pointed to the CPU ticking. It might have been a combination of both.
