The most affordable new GPU currently available is likely the RTX 4070, though it may not meet your specific needs. If you're open to alternatives, the RTX 4060 or even entry-level models like the RTX 3050 could offer better value.
For a plex server you’ll need very little GPU power. Look for old, used hardware that isn’t designed for gaming. The “can it play games?” concern usually raises prices significantly. Staying under that threshold can make it affordable quickly. It’s mainly about supply and demand—few people seek GPUs without gaming capabilities.
I understand, but in my area there aren't any used PC parts stores. The only choices I have for a budget GPU are the GT 1030 and GT 710, which are way too expensive for what I need (about 100 USD for the GT 1030 and around 70 for the GT 710).
The 3600+710 model sits about 10-20 USD higher than the 9600. If the 10600 hits a similar price, would you still consider the 3600+710 option superior to the 10600 with its IGPU? It's expected to launch with hyperthreading support.
