Hey, I’m using a Xbox One Controller with Bluetooth. It works fine when connected, but whenever I stop using it for a few minutes and then reconnect, it turns off and doesn’t respond properly afterward. I’ve tried pressing all buttons except the Xbox button, which only opens the game bar. It’s really frustrating—I have to restart my PC every time I want to use it again. Any ideas or solutions?

Turn off Bluetooth temporarily and then turn it back on again. I’ve noticed Bluetooth on Windows 10 isn’t very reliable, and I’ve had several problems with my Bluetooth headset. To avoid those issues, I switched to using a wired gaming headset for my PC and rely on Bluetooth only with my Mac.

I agree with this point. Bluetooth doesn’t perform well on Windows. (The only other OS I use it on is Android, which works fine). It often lacks proper drivers, and many USB dongles don’t support the right profiles. When I connect my headset (just stereo output) and controller, both slow down significantly compared to when they function independently. On my phone everything runs smoothly. This isn’t exactly useful advice. You might improve your Bluetooth experience by using built-in Bluetooth from a Wi-Fi card—many laptops have this feature. Or switch to a different USB Bluetooth adapter. I’ve tested several, including an Asus model, and found that a Trust-branded one works best for me, especially with my PS4 controller. Mostly I need a high-quality extension cable and position it just above my keyboard to avoid range problems. Hope this gives you some useful insight. Thanks for the tip from @Donut417.

I also attempted to turn off Bluetooth and then reactivate it. That didn’t help. After removing the adapter, I restarted it once more... still no success. Should I replace the adapter now?

Switch the dongle to the Microsoft version. It supports a special wireless protocol that might perform better than Bluetooth. Or connect the controller directly to your PC, that’s my approach.
