The 2080 Ti can only use PCIe 3.0, so if you need PCIe 4.0 for a Titan RTX, you might miss out on performance gains. It’s worth considering whether a PCIe 3.0 board is sufficient in the meantime. The difference in speed could be noticeable, making it a good idea to stick with PCIe 3.0 until you have access to a full 16x slot.

PCIe 4.0 supports older versions fully. Inserting a PCIe 3.0 device into a 4.0 port will operate at 3.0 speeds, so confirm you have the necessary 16 lanes ready for higher-bandwidth cards.

Hey team, I need to say I was a bit puzzled...? It seems I misread the situation. I assumed there was a problem with PCIe 4.0 and top-tier 2000 series cards.
