I assembled my PC using an MSI B450M PRO VDH WiFi motherboard, an AMD Ryzen 5700X, and the XFX SPEEDSTER SWFT309 AMD Radeon RX 6700 CORE graphics card. When I powered it up, the RAM indicator began flashing and the system refused to use VGA. After removing the GPU, I switched the CPU on and the VGA light ceased, indicating the CPU was attempting a GPU connection. Based on this, I suspected an issue with the graphics card and replaced it. I then reinstalled the same GPU and placed it back onto the motherboard. At first, the same problem persisted—light flickering at the RAM. Suddenly, the VGA light turned on again and the PC booted up, displaying a memory error message. During Windows installation via USB, I encountered an error screen but couldn’t fully read it. After rebooting, the RAM light continued to blink, and the PC failed to start. I’m confused about the situation. Could the newly replaced GPU be malfunctioning, or is there a problem with the motherboard? Please assist me! The most puzzling part is how a system can power on, prompt Windows to install, then abruptly lose display functionality and display a blinking RAM light before failing to boot. Is the RAM defective, or are either the RAM slot or the motherboard GPU connector faulty? Help is urgently needed!

Have you taken out the RAM and put it back in? I’m considering removing the RAM entirely and just swapping one stick at a time to see how it performs. If that doesn’t work, I’ll try another RAM stick, and if still no luck, I’ll check other slots. If everything fails, I’ll go into BIOS and reset to the default settings.

I removed the RAM and put them back in place (A2, B2). Tested in A1 and B1 slots but the PC didn’t turn on. I only kept one stick at a time and tried starting again, but it didn’t work. The issue is there’s no display to access BIOS because the RAM light is blinking on the motherboard and not sending a VGA signal. I updated the BIOS via USB since this board has a flash BIOS option. I’m confused about how it managed to start once (showed a memory error message, thought it couldn’t read it fully) and then went straight to Windows setup. The screen goes blank after powering on again. Thanks for your help.

If you can verify your graphics card on another machine, you can confirm whether the problem lies there. Cross-checking components in different systems helps identify the source more easily. While this isn’t always possible, it’s useful when troubleshooting. With multiple PCs, comparing specs like RAM becomes easier to replace if needed.

Did you reset the CMOS after modifying the RAM slots? I’ve experienced some motherboards reacting strongly to RAM changes, requiring a CMOS reset whenever they couldn’t stabilize.
