Hey everyone, how are you? I'm trying to decide which CPU to get for my PC—i5 11600K, i7 10700F, or R5 5600X. Once I pick one, I'll need some advice on the motherboard. Need a bit of guidance here!

It was my decision to grab the 5600x. Install it in a b550-f gaming and enable PBO. I think you'd end up with a fresh cooler, so if your budget allows, pick either an NH-U12s or an NH-D15. Keep in mind this is based on getting a new fast memory kit. If not, opt for the 11600k instead of the 10700f anytime soon.

If R5 5600x fits within your budget, proceed confidently. It offers excellent performance for both professional tasks and gaming, matching the capabilities of a 11600k in the gaming space. The 10700F is available, but adding two extra cores seems unnecessary unless your workload doesn’t require GPU acceleration. For motherboard options: AMD users should choose a solid board with full features and strong power delivery. My top recommendation is the Asus B550-F Strix. With Intel, opt for a B560 for the 11th generation and a B460 for the 10th. You might also consider asking someone familiar with Comet Lake to update your B460 BIOS to support Rocket Lake, or look for a board that includes a BIOS Flash button. I don’t have much hands-on experience with Intel, but I’m particularly drawn to the Gigabyte B460 Aorus series.

I'll wait another year and a half before making the change. Will consider going with the R5 5600X instead.

I’m not able to purchase that specific model, but I can suggest alternatives.

No! You need a B series motherboard. If you can't find a new RAM kit with the CPU, use the 11600k.
