Building Advice for a new construction around €2,400.00
Hello, after six months I’m finally prepared to place the order based on the great guidance from @Why_Me and @geofelt.
I just wanted to confirm if this build still fits within my budget. The total cost including the monitor is €1,850, which is under. Should I upgrade the video card for better 4K performance or switch the monitor for better video card utilization? Or does everything look fine as it stands?
Also, the PC Parts selector mentions the motherboard may not be compatible with the CPU and cooler – is that a concern?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
The Shadow Rock 3 fits LGA 1700 using an updated mounting bracket. It seems this accessory is included by default now:

If you have extra funds, prioritize purchasing the better monitor first.
A monitor will remain functional for a long time. Adjust your budget if necessary to secure a quality one.
Certain game genres require a powerful GPU for smooth performance at 4K resolution.
However, resolution and settings can be reduced accordingly.
Games that focus more on CPU performance, such as strategy or multiplayer titles, will work well at 4K with a less demanding GPU.
It's a well-crafted build featuring high-quality parts. As mentioned before, the 3060 Ti isn't a 4k card. It can handle older games in 4k or less demanding titles. But it won't support the newest releases at 4k resolution; you'll likely see 1440p or 1080p depending on the game. On the positive side, as a 4k panel it offers double the pixel count compared to 1080p, meaning 1080p fits perfectly within it. This should prevent it from appearing as poor quality on a 1440p display if you reduce the resolution.
If you're keen on playing the latest triple A games in 4k, you'll need a high-end GPU—something with a 7 or 8 in its name.
The only change I'd suggest is replacing the SSD. I'd opt for the 2TB Samsung 970 Evo instead.

I understand it's a Gen 3 drive, and Crucial is Gen 4. While the Samsung offers better endurance at 600TBW for a 1TB drive compared to 220TBW on a 1TB Crucial, the numbers double for the 2TB models. If you're working with large files, this could be beneficial.
If you already have a Windows 10 license, the key will work with Windows 11. But if you're purchasing Windows 11, ensure it's not an OEM version. Personally, I prefer buying Windows directly from Microsoft; just need a spare memory stick to create the image. The benefit of downloading is accessing a more recent version than the one included in the physical copy.
