Aio cooling remains a form of air cooling. The main variation lies in the location of heat exchange. Compare radiator sizes; typically, a twin tower air cooler matches the performance of a two-fan AIO unit. Placing the radiator ahead allows the warmed air to assist in cooling the graphics card. On RAM, speeds exceed stock requirements and may need overclocking to match advertised results. This is expected. XMP refers to Intel terminology, while EXPO is AMD's equivalent. When using a supported motherboard, it will automatically select the best specifications—such as speed, timings, and voltage. If not, you must define these manually. High-end processors can achieve greater speeds through overclocking, though the real difference is minimal. Most gamers rely on the turbo feature to push a few cores beyond what an all-core overclock could provide. You might find this article useful:

I understand, it has been a while, and I was wondering if your opinion on the intel chips has changed. I thought it was still the same, but wanted to confirm. I checked the news and haven’t noticed any problems since the patch from Intel.

I’m weighing between the AMD bundle and this Intel bundle, trying to decide if the $50 is worth it based on nano benchmarks. The AMD bundle seems to have low ratings because the MB isn’t plug and play. I’m also trying to figure out a few things and hoping you can help.

What I’m looking for in a MB is just how fast it can reach with XMP/EXPO—no need to manually overclock the system. The number display outputs aren’t really important to me since I have a GPU and don’t mind that. Would an AMD chip work better with my AMD GPU? I’ve had issues with the curved 34" model before and was worried about similar problems.

I’m not sure if one MB is better than the other, assuming they’re just basic ones and the differences are minor. From what I see, I probably don’t need heavy multi-threading, so it shouldn’t heavily favor Intel. Also, should I avoid using my current Deepcool cooler because I still have that from the previous build?

I would only think about a 3 fan AIO, and the article mentions thermalright as a decent brand, but it didn’t test a 3 fan thermalright aio. The main concern is that if I end up with an AIO, the temperature differences might not be significant, because the GPU is usually the hottest part, and putting hot or warm air into it doesn’t really help much.

Honestly, I don’t want to deal with or risk overclocking since it’s not built-in like XMP and EXPO (I’m not sure if that’s even possible).

The mobo includes a simple 8 phase VRM setup in the AMD package. The Intel version features 50A caps within the VRMs, and it also draws more power. Both options are quite basic, right?
The Intel update isn’t very strong.

If you already own the cooler, that’s okay.
In both configurations, you can turn on XMP profiles and select PBO 2 for AMD or Intel performance mode (150W) on the Z790. I’d recommend going with AMD, though Intel might be better next year if Bartlett Lake arrives.
There’s no clear benefit to pairing an AMD CPU/mobo with an AMD GPU. Just pick what suits you.

Thank you, I decided to go with the 7900x even though it was slightly faster than the 7700x. GPU temperatures remain at 90°C (still normal for my GPU), and CPU temps are consistently around 60°C, which seems acceptable. I experimented by removing the front panel and then putting it back; the temperature changed only slightly, so I thought covering the PC would be better to handle the higher temps a bit more comfortably. Appreciate the advice.
