Building a PC for Video and Graphic Design in 2024 with a 14900k rating
Hello, everyone!
I’m currently assembling a PC for my workstation. My main objectives are to achieve a system that is stable, efficient, and ready for the future.
The main tasks will revolve around video editing and graphic design (such as Photoshop, After Effects, etc.).
Here are the components I’m evaluating. Please share any better ideas or let me know if you believe this configuration needs tweaks. Thanks ahead of time!
PC Build
CPU: Intel Core i9-14900K (I prefer AMD, but Intel is preferable for Adobe apps).
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 12GB Gaming OC V3.
Motherboard (MO): MSI MAG Z790 Tomahawk WiFi.
Power Supply (PSU): Be Quiet Pure Power 12 M 1000W 80 Plus Gold Full Modular.
SSD: Samsung 990 Pro M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe 2TB.
RAM: Corsair DDR5 5600 2 x 32GB C40 Vengeance.
Cooler: Corsair H150i iCUE Elite RGB Capellix XT.
Case: Be Quiet Shadow Base 800 Black
(Will the cooler fit in this case?)
).
Any input or recommendations would be very helpful!
Let me know if you need further changes!
You shouldn't encounter any problems with that AIO based on the specifications.

Video applications thrive on OpenCL/GL capabilities and gain from quicker graphics cards, though this comes at a cost. Photoshop requires less power. If video is your primary focus, invest in the most powerful NVidia GPU you can afford.
I’m considering swapping my RTX 3060 12GB for an RTX 4070 12GB on a 2-year-old 7950X to boost Topaz Video AI performance. Ideally I’d opt for a 4090 or A6000, but I’m not ready to spend that much.
You might hope your newest hardware remains future-proof, yet software progress pushes for ever more powerful GPUs and CPUs.
I periodically upgrade parts and assemble a fresh machine every 4 to 5 years. Older systems still work for 480p and 720p tasks and handle Photoshop CS6 without trouble.
