Building a new pc
Hi, I'm planning to assemble a new PC and after some research I'm considering this model. I'm based in the UK, with a budget around 1500-1600 pounds, and I plan to order from Amazon. My main focus is gaming, so I've listed the components I need:
- Samsung 990 Pro 2TB
- Corsair RM750e
- Corsair Vengeance DDR5 CL30 AMD Expo
- Asus Prime AP201
- Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Super Windforce
- MSI B650M Gaming Plus with Wi-Fi
- Ryzen 7 7800X3D
- Arctic Liquid Freezer 3 240
Let me know if you think I should adjust anything or if this looks good.
Welcome to the forums, newcomer! It’s recommended to format your message according to the information provided in this thread; *How to Ask for New Build or Upgrade Advice*. Initially, please acknowledge where respect is expected—this adaptation comes from the Animal's *How To Ask For New Build Advice* Sticky. I developed it since many users are now seeking upgrade guidance both here and on the CPU forums, and I believe... forums. including your location, budget, and preferred purchase site. Without understanding your building goals and tax implications, we’re operating without direction. Notably, one error I see is that the RAM you selected is intended for an Intel platform. You should consider a RAM kit featuring AMD’s E.X.P.O branding. The thread has been moved from the Components section to the System section.
I believe the AP201 case stands out as the unusual one where the power supply is positioned directly behind the front panel at any of three different heights. This means the power supply rocker switch isn't visible on the back of the case. You'll need to use an interior extension cable to access it. This setup might lead to significant issues with certain power supplies because of the limited space behind the front panel. Some PSUs can handle it, while others will find it extremely challenging, depending on how the three-prong plug is oriented. There are reviews discussing this problem, but I decided against including it on my list just for that reason.
