Building a hackintosh from your existing Windows PC
Hello! I’m seeking guidance on how to transform your current Windows setup into a Hackintosh. You want to use one of your drives for booting, another for MacOS, and a third as overflow storage. I’m hoping someone can share steps that work without losing data or requiring full backups. Feel free to share any details you have, and I’ll help you move forward.
The details matter. I shared a few links for modifying Discord servers on Hackintosh. One covers AMD processors, the other focuses on Intel CPUs: /r/Hackintosh Paradise Spoiler. There are also other communities with tailored guides, such as TomyMac and OSX Latitude.
i5 6600K, ASRock 4sPro Z170 MOBO, 16GB DDR4 RAM at 2333MHz. Includes Samsing 860Pro 500GB, Mystery SATA SSD (for MacOS, brand unknown), and Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB HDD (not for MacOS).
Use GParted to reduce your NTFS partition and form an HFS+ partition, as Disk Utility often struggles with NTFS and overlooks available space. Follow the setup instructions here: https://hackintosh-multiboot.gitbook.io/...ers-loonix. Next, refer to the guide for configuring a USB installer without a Mac: https://internet-install.gitbook.io/maco...t-install/. Skip the USB creation steps if needed. Tools like Unibeast and Multibeast may seem appealing, but they can lead to system instability due to their patch methods. EDIT: I haven’t confirmed your UEFI or Legacy settings—check the first guide’s tabs if applicable.
