Good afternoon everyone,
Thank you for taking the time to review this thread and share your suggestions.
I’m finally acquiring a new gaming PC after saving for a while (limited funds and family constraints mean I can only save a small amount each month). My current setup is quite outdated.

Current specifications:
- CPU: Intel® Core™ i7 CPU, 950 @ 3.07GHz
- RAM: 16GB DDR3
- SSD: 200GB
- HD: 600GB
- Motherboard: Sabertooth X58
- GPU: GeForce RTX 2060 (still managed to play Cyberpunk with a patch because the CPU was running at low settings)
- Approximate purchase date: September 2024

Budget range: £2500 - £3000
Usage priority from most to least important: Gaming, general use

Monitor inquiry: Yes / No (depends on what’s left; I’m hoping for a 4K display around £200)

Upgrade plans: All upgrades
OS purchase: Yes – I want it included in the build
Location: Blackpool, United Kingdom
Hardware preferences: No specific choice, not very familiar with components
Overclocking: Possibly
SLI or Crossfire: Not sure what that means
Monitor resolution: Currently 1920x1080; I aim for the highest quality possible within my budget.

Additional notes:
I have a budget of roughly £2500 - £3000 and am aiming for a system that runs everything smoothly and remains functional for some time.
My main concern is my limited hardware knowledge—some research suggested AMD CPUs are better for future-proofing and gaming performance, but this is based on opinions rather than personal experience.

Could anyone recommend a solid build for me (and preferably with location info), that offers good long-term viability? I plan to have the funds by September 2024, but thought it would be wise to do thorough research from experienced users.

Also, here’s a link I found:
https://www.scan.co.uk/products/3xs...id...ssd-win-11
It seems to match my requirements (though not the absolute top tier), and it’s within the high-spec range. I’m a bit concerned I might miss something important.

Thank you very much for your time and help—it truly means a lot.
Matt

4K gaming represents a significant increase in cost compared to QHD. Perhaps it's worth investing more for a larger, higher-quality 1440p display, while keeping the budget focused on a 4070 Ti SUPER graphics card. It would offer excellent performance without exceeding your financial limits.

I would avoid the Lexar storage and the Asus prime PSU in favor of a more costly option, though these are my choices.

I have nothing against a more powerful GPU or 4K resolution. The original poster seems unaware of the latest hardware trends. Perhaps the budget is significantly higher than required.
I often notice this. Individuals who haven't kept up with recent developments believe they need 64Gb of RAM, or a PC costing $3000-4000.
The lower and mid-range options are quite solid these days. Only the extremely cheap models fall short.
As noted, the older system can still run Cyberpunk since the game still requires an entry-level RTX 4060. Therefore, going all out with a build isn't necessarily essential.

Well if this is true, we will be informed by the OPs next posts. Usually when people post a budget, that amount is what they are willing to use to get what they want. If we had a more clear understanding of their goals with this PC like; resolution, settings, and expected FPS for the money, we can then make a more tailored recommendation regardless of budget.
