Hey everyone, I'm thinking about getting a new rig soon and would love some advice on parts, especially compatible ones. For the GPU, I'm aiming for something between $150 and $250, like the new Arc B580. Choosing the motherboard and CPU is tricky, and I’m unsure if I can spend more than $150-200 combined. Maybe an MSI B760M E DDR5 (rev. 1.0) LGA1700 would work. RAM should be around 32GB or a single slot 16GB. I’m not sure if DDR5 is available, but I’ll likely need a 500W power supply too. What I’m looking for is something that can be upgraded in the next few years, and I don’t play very high-end games or demanding titles.

See here: *How to Ask for New Build or Upgrade Advice* How to Ask for New Build or Upgrade Advice First off, respect where respect is due - this is an adaptation of the Animal's *How To Ask For New Build Advice* Sticky. I created this because there's a lot of posts nowadays asking for upgrade advice both on here and on the CPU forums, and I feel... forums.

Problem with the B580 is that it requires a new CPU, which would exceed more than half your budget. If you're comfortable upgrading later, you can install something like an R5 3600 with a cheap motherboard, add 16GB RAM, and use an older GPU such as a 1080Ti, and everything will work fine.

These configurations are feasible but may require platforms with limited options and offer near the lowest possible prices.

I think if we're aiming for the absolute minimum cost, are you close to a microcenter? You usually find core parts at a lower price, and they often offer open-box options for even less, though you might not have much flexibility. They do have a good offer on an i7-12700K combo, but it's a bit pricier than what we've considered before.

Thank you for your message. What was the CPU in the initial build? I understand you're considering an HDD/SSD setup from the previous PC and are interested in new GPUs priced between $100 and $200.

The CPU is the AMD 7400F, positioned at the bottom of the list. It isn't found in regular stores, so you need to purchase it on AliExpress. It's a 6-core processor that fits into the AM5 socket for about 122 dollars.
