Building a budget gaming rig with a price range of $450 to $600
Hey everyone, I'm thinking about getting a new rig soon and would love some advice on parts, especially compatible ones. For the GPU, I'm aiming for something between $150 and $250, like the new Arc B580. Choosing the motherboard and CPU is tricky, and I’m unsure if I can spend more than $150-200 combined. Maybe an MSI B760M E DDR5 (rev. 1.0) LGA1700 would work. RAM should be around 32GB or a single slot 16GB. I’m not sure if DDR5 is available, but I’ll likely need a 500W power supply too. What I’m looking for is something that can be upgraded in the next few years, and I don’t play very high-end games or demanding titles.

I created this because there's a lot of posts nowadays asking for upgrade advice both on here and on the CPU forums, and I feel... forums.
Problem with the B580 is that it requires a new CPU, which would exceed more than half your budget. If you're comfortable upgrading later, you can install something like an R5 3600 with a cheap motherboard, add 16GB RAM, and use an older GPU such as a 1080Ti, and everything will work fine.

These configurations are feasible but may require platforms with limited options and offer near the lowest possible prices.
My perspective on an Intel build. Consider swapping the B580 if possible:

I think if we're aiming for the absolute minimum cost, are you close to a microcenter? You usually find core parts at a lower price, and they often offer open-box options for even less, though you might not have much flexibility. They do have a good offer on an i7-12700K combo, but it's a bit pricier than what we've considered before.
Thank you for your message. What was the CPU in the initial build? I understand you're considering an HDD/SSD setup from the previous PC and are interested in new GPUs priced between $100 and $200.
