I recently put together a new server setup. The parts include: CPU – Dual Xeon X5670 (functional), RAM – 48GB DDR3 PC3-12800 ECC Samsung (8GB modules, brand new and verified), Mobo – Asus Z8NA-D6 (tested with Xeon E5530 and PC3-10666), PSU – ThermalTake Toughpower GF1 850W 80+Gold (functional), and the system powers on smoothly. The status light is green and flashing every second as described in the manual (https://www.asus.com/bt/supportonly/Z8NA...sk_Manual/). At first, I thought the graphics card might be the issue and tried a spare GT710 without success. Removing all RAM caused an error code via the buzzer, but with the modules present there are no errors now. Running the system in single CPU mode also didn’t produce issues. I’ve experimented with other RAM sticks that match the specs, but nothing changed. My main troubleshooting focus remains on the motherboard BIOS; otherwise I’m stuck.

Current BIOS information is available. The E5530 supports BIOS version 406, while the X5670 requires version 802. Performance remains on par with a modern Core i3 due to the architecture being around 12 years old.

Unfortunately no information on current bios version. I've spent a few hundred AUD so like 300ish USD which is still much less than building a modern i3 system (Gotta love Australia). I did see that on the support website so I'm checking with the motherboard seller now about that.
