Completed the latest installation and it still doesn't work. The MB is an MSI x570 meg ace. The debug LED stays on, and the debug code lights show 00, which many believe points to an issue with the CPU or motherboard. The CPU is a Ryzen 3700X. I replaced the chip and verified the connections—pins appear fine, didn’t force it too much. All cables seem properly secured. This is my first build, so there’s a possibility something went wrong, but I’ve reviewed all online resources. I’m wondering if the problem lies with the CPU or the motherboard. Should I return both or go for a prebuilt unit? Any advice would be appreciated.

Wow, I see that point. It seems a crucial code is missing. Usually, with AMI BIOS postcode 00, CPU initialization fails or an older error occurs—Interrupt error 19. In AMI BIOS version 2.2, the 00 code indicates a Flag Test for the CPU. The issue here points to a CPU failure. For AMI Plus BIOS 00, it means Control to Interrupt 19 or Call to Interrupt 19 for the boot loader. AMI Color 00 is similar, directing Control to Int 19 for the boot loader. I’m not familiar with MSI and its BIOS codes or foundation. This matches what I found in previous versions or AMI BIOS post codes. It’s likely the pins aren’t connecting properly in the CPU socket, or the CPU itself may be dead. Take out the CPU, check for bent pins, straighten them, and reinsert it. Good luck! Also, clear the CMOS before rebooting.

I've removed the CPU and inspected the pins again, then re-soldered it. The CMOS was cleared too, but nothing changed. It seems more likely the CPU itself is faulty rather than the motherboard. Should I return just the CPU or both? I thought I might have misinserted the power connection since my PSU is modular, though it only fits a P4/P8 socket.

To figure out whether it's the motherboard or the CPU, you can swap them out and see which one works. The 8-pin would definitely activate an 8-pin CPU, especially if it's over 100W, but even a 4-pin would power it up. You might have already replaced the CPU before. From what I've seen, I've swapped more motherboards than CPUs. Biostar discontinued, then they changed their name to Biostop. MSI just labeled them as the best in the market right away. These are just jokes among a few of my friends who work with me. One of them had a great experience with a Biostar board. FX Vishera-squirt CPUs were really problematic, mostly because of performance issues. In most people's view, they were a poor value for money. If I could bet, I'd go back for the board. The error code stuck at 00, and the manual didn't give a clear solution. Don’t lose your money—try to keep it safe. Hopefully the board didn’t damage the CPU, but it’s risky. If you have someone nearby with a working system, they could test the CPU in there.
