Build for dad
Build for dad
Hello everyone, would someone be able to compile a PC parts list for a build I’m planning for my dad? Should it cover a 21 or 24-inch monitor as well? The budget is around £600-750. It should support web browsing, emails, YouTube, word processing, photo storage, etc. Preferences include a Micro ATX build and it doesn’t matter if the processor is Intel or AMD. I’m expecting the B550 soon, so if it’s AMD I’ll wait until then. It needs to be upgradeable and future-proof. Thanks, feel free to ask any questions.
I wouldn't go for Ryzen in that case because you would have to find a GPU in order for it to even POST. And considering your dad isn't a gamer or doing anything graphically intensive, there just isn't a need for one. In fact, you'll just be throwing money away because the cheapest GPUs on the market are terrible value. Their performance are not nearly worth their relatively high cost. Integrated graphics would be the way to go in this case. He'll be just fine using a basic Core i3/i5 system paired with a SSD.
If it isn't intense gaming, you might find a refurbished Dell Optiplex available with replacement components.
