Hey everyone,

I'm setting up a gaming PC for a friend. It's mainly for gaming with some occasional Premiere Pro and Blendr work, but the focus is on 1440p at 144Hz using High/Ultra settings, aiming to run Ray Tracing on games that still deliver decent FPS.

I'm located in Indonesia, with a budget of around 30 Million IDR (about $2,000 USD). I don’t plan to do any CPU BIOS optimisation—just turning on XMP—and hope the CPU and RAM choices are sufficient.

PCPartPicker Part List
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9700X 3.8 GHz 8-Core Processor ($323.99 @ Amazon)
CPU Cooler: ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III 280 72.8 CFM ($86.23 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI ATX AM5 ($209.99 @ Amazon)
Memory: TEAMGROUP T-Create Expert 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL38 ($82.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Western Digital WD_Black SN850X 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME ($89.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: Gigabyte WINDFORCE SFF GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16 GB ($1098.00 @ Amazon)
Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower ($113.99 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: Cooler Master MWE Gold V2 ATX3.0 850 W (80+ Gold Certified, Fully Modular) ($85.00 approx @ Amazon)

Total comes to about $2005.18, including shipping, taxes, and any available discounts.

The board might require a BIOS update to function properly with that CPU. You should have DDR5 6000 CL30 RAM installed. The case works well, but additional fans would enhance its airflow performance. You might want to opt for the 9070 XT model if it offers better value locally. I've listed both for your reference.

Your build is acceptable as it stands.
For better air cooling, I’d choose a solid twin tower air cooler that offers similar performance and durability.
Thermalright peerless assassin is a great option.

It appears the 5070 Ti and 9070 XT are about $90 apart here. Would AMD impact Ray Tracing performance at all? Thanks for the tips on RAM speed and the Mobo BIOS update—it was really helpful. I’ve found a B850 board at a similar price. Also, noted on the Air Cooler regarding the case—I’ll check it out. I really like the Peerless Assassin.

The 9070XT doesn't match the speed of the 5070Ti in ray tracing, though it performs adequately.

The sole justification for picking the 9070 XT instead of the 5070 Ti is its cost. The 5070 Ti consumes less power, operates at a cooler temperature, and consistently delivers higher FPS on average, along with superior DLSS performance compared to FSR.
