Hey there, hold up steady. It's not the absolute best power supply on the market, but it does the job pretty good. Sure, some inside parts aren't the coolest or newest, but for the price and the way it runs, it works really well and doesn't make a lot of noise. On top of that, people keep saying the RMe can only run office computers if you don't have a graphics card plugged in? That's just making things up!

Asus has 4 main phases on its MoBo, whether doubled or tripled or quadrupled. The official specs don't say much because having 4 phases isn't a big deal. Here is an Asus link to their page for the B650M-A WiFi II motherboard. In contrast, AsRock lists 8 main phases of VRM on its packaging with that formula of 8 plus 2 plus 1. I have a video showing how Asus doubled those 4 phases and why they did it. You can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLO-vYjJN-I. Why should someone pay the same price for an inferior RMe as one that is just the Vertex GX-750? What reasons would you use to buy the cheaper option instead of spending more?

Same thing goes for other brands like ASUS too. The bigger version isn't 14 phases; it's actually two times seven, or 2x7. Of course, there is more to this than just counting how many phases there are. ASRock's 2x4 design in this case is much better than that of ASUS. It says so on their official marketing page, which makes me feel a bit shocked. But it still doesn't change the fact that technically it's not an 8-phase setup but a 2x4 VRM design. There are motherboards with 8, 10, or even 12 phases out there, but they don't cost $150 for sure; I can tell you that much. Of course, you really don't need them unless you plan to do some extreme overclocking. But yeah, cheap ASUS and Gigabyte motherboards are mostly things we should avoid: we can agree on that. Good news is that these days, even cheap motherboards with decent MOSFETs can be enough for most CPUs out there.

I'm just saying that the RMe isn't what you think it is. It's a good power supply unit with solid performance, even though some inside parts are average and don't really hurt its overall quality. Are there better options for the same price? Yes. Is the RMe a bad choice? No, it's not. The Vertex is also a terrible PSU by the way you suggested.
