Budget: $5,000 USD
Country: USA
Used for: 3ds max, Steam Games
Additional info: existing components, required accessories, previous system upgrades, intended purchase date, desired playback resolution and refresh rate, etc.
Will this configuration support 3dsmax modeling and rendering? Have I selected the parts appropriately?
Upgrading from a Threadripper 1950x, RTX 2060 and 32 GB DDR4 RAM
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ph4q8Q
GPU: https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-Graphics...142&sr=1-1
Alternatively, consider other White RTX 5080 options

With a bit of adjustment, it’s possible to build a 5090 using that budget. It seems the 5080 Super is on the way, so you might want to wait for it, as it offers more V-Ram.

This looks like the direction I was aiming for when planning the build. Up to now, I've chosen the Ryzen 9 9950x3d along with an Asus 5060ti featuring 16GB of VRAM, either 64 or 128 GB DDR5-6000 RAM, and a fractal design case with Meshify 3 XL as the top choice.

Unless you have a particular scenario, 128gb would be excessive, likely leading to wasted resources. Otherwise, it seems acceptable.

I would bet it's not genuine at just $14.95, given they mention the "suggested" price for Windows 11 Pro is $199. They seem to be targeting someone specific.

No intent to mislead. Just shared another location offering "cheap windows." As originally stated, I don’t claim anything about its quality. I just provided the link; anyone interested should evaluate it themselves and conduct their own research. People have different preferences on what they’re willing to purchase.

Referenced in several discussions
...I think Tom’s Hardware is fine with this. I also see TechSpot as a solid option (Steve from Hardware Unboxed sometimes contributes there). Does that automatically mean it’s a good place to buy? Not really, but it seems more likely to be decent at least.

I completely understand if you decide to remove it, but you’ll need to adjust your post so the link isn’t visible.
And of course I hope nothing is harmed, with apologies for any trouble caused.

With a $5k budget, ensure the OS license is included.
Purchase genuine or avoid it entirely.
Would you consider cutting costs on any other part?

No offense intended. I’m just worried that many individuals are being tricked into paying scam artists for an unlicensed copy of Windows.
It caught my attention to see this post. Tom tends to target those who attempt to recover lost passwords for secured accounts or encrypted files, or who seek keygens/cracks for commercial software.
Maybe a low-cost key from an Enterprise Volume License pack meant for the Philippines isn’t considered illegal, even though it violates Microsoft’s terms for resale globally?
Selling cheap keys could likely breach the US Copyright Act of 1976 and comparable legislation elsewhere.
Would supporting this behavior on the forum be considered complicit?
The usual warning applies—I’m not a lawyer.
No need to remove it. I’m not an administrator here. Still, there are countless similar links available, and as the saying goes, "a fool and his money are soon parted."
After all, spending just $12 on a potentially unlicensed version is far less than the usual $100–$200 for a fully legal Home/Pro edition.
