Eh, steady on. Although it's not the absolute best PSU, it's quite acceptable. Of course, some internal parts aren't top-of-the-line, but it delivers solid performance overall and operates quietly. Regarding the claim that the RMe should only run office OC without a dGPU, that's not true.
For Asus MoBo, there are four main VRM phases regardless of whether it's doubled, tripled, or quadrupled. The official specs don't mention anything about VRM phases, but the details are available online. With AsRock MoBo, the specifications indicate eight main phase VRM (8+2+1). It's worth considering why someone would pay the same price for a less powerful RMe when an upgrade to Vertex GX-750 is possible for the same cost (1590kr).

also the "bigger" version is not 14 phases but rather 2x7 ...
of course there is much more to that than simply counting phases
asrocks 2x4 design in this case is of course much superior to that of asus .
it says so on their official marketing page - what a shocker .
it still doesn´t change the fact that technically it´s not 8 but a 2x4 VRM design .
now there are motherboards with 8, 10 or even 12 phase designs out there
but they don´t cost $150 i can tell you that much ...
of course you don´t really need them unless you are planning to do some extreme OC .
but yeah cheap asus and gigabyte motherboards are better to be avoided mostly :

good news is that these days even cheap motherboards given a decent mosfets can be enough
for most of the cpus out there .
I noticed only the RMe stands out in your assessment. It's a solid power supply unit that works well, even with some average internal parts that don't affect its overall quality. There are better options available at this price range. The RMe isn't a poor choice. Also, the Vertex is a decent PSU as you mentioned.
