Hi everyone, I'm planning to swap my old PC setup with a whole new one and make sure all the parts fit together. I really want an RTX 5070 so mostly I need some general advice on how to get the best price for that card. Here is the link I found: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/JnLCKq I plan to buy everything in a single bundle from my local Microcenter for $370. As long as those parts aren't a big deal, I'm all set with them. About when I want to start buying things: May 2025. My budget goes up to about $1500. Where do I get these parts? None really matters here in the US. The screen I need is for 1440p resolution. Thanks a lot!

Air coolers don't work well with those fish tank cases. Instead, look for a regular ATX case that has a mesh front panel. Here is what the parts list shows from PCPartPicker: * Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower Case costs $89.99 at Amazon. The total comes to $89.99. These prices already include shipping, taxes, and any discounts available. Parts were picked based on parametric criteria. This list was made by PCPartPicker on April 23, 2025, at 11:38 PM EDT.

If you are willing to buy a slightly more expensive CPU, upgrade to the 9700X instead of the cheaper 9600X. You also need to get a newer motherboard like an X870 chip set so it matches your new CPU. That motherboard might cost just a little bit more than a normal B650 board but it's totally worth it.

You should definitely buy a better power supply too, maybe something from the Core Reactor II or an RMX series instead of the current one. Here is what I have chosen:

What's happening here? I'm checking out a deal with three items: my processor, my motherboard, and some memory sticks. The whole thing is being sold for $370. Should I just pay extra to get those specific parts instead, or is it cheaper elsewhere? @dark_globe

If you can get this deal, then you should take it. I am currently using normal prices, so buying a slightly older CPU that has better single-core speed along with a fresh motherboard chip at about the same cost makes more sense than upgrading to newer parts right now.

I wouldn't buy a 5070 because it has too many problems with drivers. Also, the 12gb of video memory won't last long on your computer. The 9070 is actually faster and will work better for longer. You can use them fine if you plug in your fans correctly. But the case you picked doesn't have any fans to cool it down. If they want that fish tank style cooling, this would be the cheapest option. The side fans are reverse fans, which means they bring fresh air into the computer. Here is a link to the PC Part Picker page for the Montech King 65 Pro ATX Mid Tower case: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/dKCZxr/...g-65-pro-b And here is another link from TechPowerUp showing a review of that same case: https://www.techpowerup.com/review/monte...pro/4.html

I picked the 5070 since it's easier to find and costs a bit less than what it originally should have been.
