Hello everyone,
I'm thinking about swapping my older PC setup for a completely new build and would like some general advice on the parts I should consider. I'm focused on getting the RTX 5070 and aiming for the best possible configuration within a reasonable price range.
I plan to buy a bundle from a local Microcenter that covers CPU, motherboard, and RAM for $370, as long as it meets my needs.
Estimated purchase date is May 2025.
Budget: between $1000 and $1500.

Air coolers aren't compatible with those fish tank cases. Opt for a standard ATX case featuring a front mesh panel.
Swap the CPU with a 9600x/9700x model and use the B850/x870 chipset (you can find one at a similar cost or slightly higher, like an older B650 board). A superior power supply would be beneficial (RMe Corsairs are good but not top-tier; Core Reactor II is better, while Corsair RMX is a stronger option).

If you spot an additional $100, consider upgrading to a 9700x board.
I wouldn't choose the 5070 unless they can find a 9070 or 9070xt at a comparable cost. Nvidia has faced many problems with 50 series drivers, and the 12gb vram isn't expected to last long. The 9070 offers a bit more speed and should last longer. They might function if the fans are set up properly. The case the buyer picked lacks fans, which is a drawback. I think the Air 903 max is a superior option. If they're after that aquarium look, this would be the most affordable pick. The side fans are reverse, so they circulate fresh air effectively.
