MSI B650 MB socket AMD5 requires a CPU cooler that won't consume all my ATX area. I don't play games or overclock.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer! What is the make and model of your case? What about your RAM? Do you have a model for your MSI branded motherboard? What is your budget for the cooler? Your location and preferred purchase site are also important. Yes, your hardware may cause clearance issues if not specified.

AMD's X SKUs are built to handle up to the 95C thermal limit instead of being limited by TDP. This allows flexibility in choosing any cooler, though it may not always deliver peak performance. The ideal purchase depends on available space, budget, and location, as availability changes significantly. For smaller setups, the 7900 is a better option compared to the 7900X. I don’t have extensive firsthand experience with new air coolers, but I’ve used a Thermalright Peerless Assassin and would definitely suggest Thermalright.

I recommend considering the Deepcool AK620 or Thermalright Phantom Spirit. Given your Ryzen 9 CPU, these options would provide improved cooling.
