I have not upgraded my PC for a long time.
i7 4770k
gtx 1050 ti
16gb ram
550w 80 bronze aero cool
I recently bought an ASUS RX 2060 6gb with a cooler Master G800 80+ gold, but I’m unsure which CPU and motherboard to choose.
I just want to play games at 1080p and record them, that’s all.
My budget is around 450 USD for CPU + motherboard right now.
My questions are:
[1] Based on my RX 2060, does my power supply provide the full 800W or operate at its required capacity?
[2] Since my system is quite old and I don’t want to lag behind, should I opt for the 12th generation?
[3] Should I consider the cheapest motherboard (H610 series) to balance things?
Thank you.

No, since I have no idea which parts are available or the costs for users or retailers in your area. However, I can recommend certain models and you can attempt to find them. Southeast Asian markets are particularly challenging because there are few PC Partpicker listings for those regions, unlike in other areas. For most users, the best value right now is typically a Ryzen 5 5600G paired with an entry-level to mid-range B550 or X570 motherboard, which would complement your RTX 2060. You might also consider Intel i5-12400F, i5-12400 or i5-12500 chipsets from the 12th Gen Alder Lake or 13th Gen Raptor Lake CPUs.

Power supply provides only what is necessary. The hardware consumes exactly what it requires.
Which country are you from?

No, since I have no idea which parts are available or the costs for customers or sellers in your area. However, I can recommend certain models and you can attempt to locate them. Southeast Asian markets are particularly challenging because there are few PC Partpicker listings for those regions, unlike in other areas. For most users at the moment, the best value usually comes from a Ryzen 5 5600G and an entry-level to mid-range B550 or X570 motherboard, which would complement your RTX 2060. You might also consider Intel processors like i5-12400F, i5-12400 or i5-12500 from the 12th Gen Alder Lake or 13th Gen Raptor Lake lines. Alternatively, if you manage to find one for the appropriate price, even an i3-12100F or i3-12100 could be beneficial, offering around 38% better single-core performance and about 50% improved multithreaded performance compared to your older 4770k. It would be wise not to go below the Ryzen 5000 or 7000 series, or Intel 12th/13th Gen models, which should have at least six cores and twelve threads.
