Hey there! I was thinking about streaming Dota 2, CS:GO, and even Apex Legends in 720p at 60fps using two PCs. The main machine has an Intel Core i5-3470, 12GB DDR3 RAM at 1333mhz, and a Zotac GTX 1050 2GB GPU. The secondary setup is an AMD A8-7600 with 8GB DDR3 at 1866mhz and a Gigabyte GT 1030 2GB OC model. I know these are not top-tier systems, so I’m wondering if streaming on Facebook or Twitch at that resolution would work smoothly. I can handle Dota 2 and CS:GO well over 60fps, and Apex Legends is playable at lower settings with occasional drops to around 40-50fps. The goal is for the PCs to focus on gameplay while streaming without extra strain. Also, what upload speed do I need? We currently have speeds up to 20mbps, but I don’t want to use all of it since it might affect other users—especially family members. What’s the best upload speed for this kind of setup?

The 1030 supports the hardware encoder. Using both CPUs won't work well with x264, so go with the hardware encoder. This seems like a known issue.

I'm here to help clarify things about the 1030's encoder. Let me know if you'd like more details! For internet speed, feel free to check your connection or let me know what you're experiencing.

Download Twitch Bandwidth Test Tool: https://r1ch.net/projects/twitchtest Add your Twitch key to OBS. Select region, time, and run a few times to find the best one. Focus on quality ping and bandwidth. In OBS stream settings, set video resolution to 1920x1080 or 1440x810, frame rate 1440x810 at 50-60% of your available bandwidth. Use NVENC encoding with bitrates as listed: 6000kbps for 60fps 1080p, 8000kbps for 12000kbps, etc. Choose settings like Rate Control CBR or preset profiles depending on partners. For x264, use Rate Control CBR at 6000kbps/8000kbps and CPU presets for speed.

It includes a hardware encoder. This design ensures smooth streaming with minimal impact on performance since the encoder operates independently of the GPU, which handles encoding.

You should consider moving the encoding work to the A8-7600 if you want better performance.

You might want to give it a shot. CPU encoding generally delivers top quality.

For 720p60, I suggest setting a high refresh rate and maintaining stable frame rates. Adjust your display settings to prioritize smooth motion while keeping the resolution at 720p.
