I'm struggling with my PC lately. It's been behaving oddly, especially when XMP is enabled. During cold starts, I often encounter a BSOD with confusing error codes: PFN List corrupt Registry Error, Memory Management issues, kernel traps, WHEA warnings, and attempts to write to read-only memory. Initially, I suspected a hardware fault, so I removed the RAM, tried another machine, ran Windows memory diagnostics with XMP, and it showed no problems—but my PC still reports errors. After swapping the motherboard and resetting Windows, the issue returned. I even ran memtest86 on a USB drive, which completed all tests cleanly, yet the problem reappeared after booting. It seems beyond RAM; I've checked SSD health (SSDs at 97%), but I'm not sure what else to check. I'd appreciate any advice without needing more components. Thanks! Specs include Ryzen 3700X, MSI B550, Intel 660p SSD, and a few other parts. Also, sometimes the BIOS fails to recognize the Windows boot drive, causing recovery screens. Only turning off the PSU seems to let the motherboard re-detect the SSD.

Checked two RAM sticks separately at my desk. Also, please note I have four DIM slots; I used all of them and got a memory error on one old motherboard, while the other one worked fine.

Running Windows memory diagnostic on the same RAM without removing it from the slot showed hardware problems were flagged. I stopped the test and saw a recovery screen; I had to press and hold the power button to restart Windows (it was stuck in recovery). Fortunately, it booted successfully the first time. Occasionally it loops for about six crashes before eventually starting.

You also created a new Windows installation USB, and Windows was set up yesterday. It seems unlikely Windows is severely corrupted, though it’s possible.
