BSOD possible, might be linked to RAM issues.
Hello everyone,
My system has been running for nearly a year now, and I haven’t seen many Blue screens since it was set up. Recently, I’ve started encountering a lot of blue screen errors. The issues include things like "Memory Management," "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL," "System service exception," "System Thread exception not handled," and "pfn list corrupt." I suspect a RAM problem might be the cause. My current RAM setup is two 16GB DDR5 5200 Corsair Vengance modules, and I’ve disabled XMP as a troubleshooting step. I’ve reinstalled Windows twice without success. Running the system with just one DIMM has seemed to prevent the crashes, though I’m still testing each stick individually for a bad module. I’ve also used SFC/scannow in the command prompt, which found and repaired some corrupted files.
I noticed a possible line near slot B2 (slot 4) that looks like a crack, which might be connected to the issue. I’m also checking the Sysnative Files link for more details on the BSOD reports.
Please let me know if this helps or if you have any insights!
Have you tested memtest86 on a single stick and measured the time? "Memory management" guarantees that memory areas are correctly managed and assigned, allowing the OS, programs, and other active processes to have the memory they require. "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" might be due to antivirus or device driver issues, which are less likely. "System service exception" suggests the problem could arise after an OS installation failure, so running CHKDSK or checking errors in File Explorer might help. "System thread exception not handled" indicates a driver or hardware fault, likely causing the BSOD. "pfn list corrupt" aligns with previous findings and the service exception, thread exception, and memory issues. I recommend running memtest86 on one stick at a time. I recall a RAM stick failure from a kit earlier—those were in slots 2 and 4. Based on the error messages, you could try another stick from a friend if possible. If the problem continues and isn’t resolved by others, please report it.
I've checked slots 2 and 4, but I haven't run memtest yet. It's a smart move to test each one separately. After using these RAM sticks for about a year without any problems, it still feels odd that they might fail suddenly.
I finished testing Memtest86, found an issue with my RAM module. I’m planning to send it back for replacement. Thanks for your assistance!
