Hey, this is my first time posting in a while... So Red Dead Redemption 2 went on sale for just $20 USD this weekend, and I bought it from Steam. After installing, the game asked me to set up the Rockstar Games Launcher, which I did. Right now I'm about 45 minutes to an hour in, and I keep seeing blue screens more than five times. I've tried lowering the graphics settings, but it doesn't help. Also, I checked the game files on Steam and everything looked good. My friend and I both bought it this weekend from Steam, and he seems totally fine with it. (We have similar PCs, I've got some higher-end parts like a GPU and CPU.)

My setup: Ryzen 5 3600 3060 Ti Founders Edition DDR4 RAM 16GB (8GBx2) 3600MHz, Asus LC240 650W PSU. The game is installed on a 2TB Seagate HDD with plenty of space left. I don’t have anything else to add except to ask if anyone needs more details! Thanks for the help!

Run CPU tests using Prime95 with Small FFTs for an hour. Perform RAM checks with Memtest86 for three hours. Let me know if any issues arise during testing. Download links: Prime95 – https://www.mersenne.org/download/, Memtest86 – https://www.memtest86.com/download.htm

Prime95 is currently in progress, and for Memtest86 I don’t have a spare USB drive handy, though I’ll grab one later today. All the threads have successfully completed the "torture test" in Prim95 so far, and it’s been running for about ten minutes now. Please let me know if there’s anything else you’d like to do. Thanks!

I also played demanding games like Cyberpunk 2077, Assassins Creed Valhalla, and Far Cry 6 at maximum settings without major issues. Another update: Prime95 is still working smoothly!

Did you select the Small FFTs setting? The BSOD displays: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

I selected the small FFTs setting. The process ran for 50 minutes without issues. The BSOD displayed: WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR

It seems like the system is likely experiencing a hardware problem. A fast method to check RAM and the IMC involves using Prime95 with Large FFTs for an hour. Consider trying that approach next.

Sounds good. I just finished the first test and started the second. While moving the mouse, the computer feels slower and laggy. I’ll keep an eye out for errors, but I suspect RAM might be the issue. I’ll run another memory test later if everything looks fine. Thanks a lot for your assistance!

Hello again! The memtest86 passed all tests without issues. I completed the three suggested checks and everything was fine. Have any other suggestions? No problem, thanks for your time!

Test the GPU using GPUPI 3.3.3. Press Calculate and apply the specified settings. Run a one-hour test with MSI Kombustor. Let me know if any issues arise during testing.
