Hello, here’s how I set up my system: a Ryzen 7 2700X with an Aorus B450 Pro WiFi, 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO, 3600MHz MSI GTX1660 Ti, and an NVMe 500GB SSD paired with a 256GB NVMe 2TB HDD running at 7200RPM Corsair 650W PSU.

Before this setup, I owned a 16GB kit of 3000MHz TridentZ, which also caused similar issues. After a complete system reset in December 2019, the problems lessened but persisted. My computer has been behaving strangely—games would crash, applications froze, and I kept seeing BSOD errors. I ran diagnostics on every RAM stick and everything showed normal results in BIOS, Task Manager, Ryzen Master, and even HWiNFO (installed to help).

The trouble started after installing the TridentZ kit. I upgraded to the Vengeance model because my previous errors clearly pointed to memory problems. The new Vengeance only made things worse. It seems that more RAM or higher speeds lead to more frequent BSODs, especially when booting from any state. I usually get messages like “System_thread_exception” or “Kernel_security_check_failure” right after launching certain games.

Games such as Rocket League tend to freeze randomly, and CSGO has similar issues. CSGO crashes within a minute every time I open it, possibly due to a DX11 problem. My Rocket League sessions often freeze, and I have to use Ctrl+Alt+Del to recover. “Ran out of video memory” is rare for Rocket League, which shouldn’t be the case with this hardware.

My 6GB GDDR5 RAM should comfortably handle most games in 1080p. All drivers are up to date, temperatures stay well below safe limits, and the CPU rarely exceeds 60°C while the GPU stays under 70°C.

If anyone knows what’s behind these BSODs or performance issues, please let me know. I’ve invested a lot here, but right now it’s just frustration, not fun.

Check your HDD or SSD specifications. What BIOS version are you running? Is it current?

Try turning off X.M.P. and using normal JEDEC settings (2133mhz at CL15). It might be that your motherboard struggles with memory updates. You didn’t mention the software or how long you ran it, even if you used a good testing tool for a while, there could be overheating issues affecting stability.

You didn’t mention the software or how long you ran it, even if you used a good testing tool for a while, there could be overheating issues affecting stability.

Place the RAM in slots 2 and 4. Activate XMP settings and adjust the DRAM voltage manually to 1.35 or slightly higher for better stability. Test using 1.37 as an alternative.
