Brothers are having trouble when they try to search for something right after turning on their computers.
Hi everyone, I tried chrome, firefox, and edge on windows 11. Yesterday all of them worked fine right after the computer turned on, but within a few minutes when I searched for things, the results might not show up at all. Sometimes only the search page shows itself instead of the actual answers. At one point I could hit the forward arrow to get the results, which makes me think that using "back" is actually happening even though I'm just searching.
I checked with malwarebytes and bitdefender and they both said my computer is clean. I tried updating windows and turned off all browser extensions too. Searching on another computer didn't give any good help. Even after uninstalling firefox and chrome, clearing the cache, and reinstalling everything, the problem is still there.
I think it's something with windows 11, not the browsers since I have this issue with three different ones. Also, direct URLs work fine for me, but as soon as I use the search box, it acts weird like it resets or searches again before I even press enter. That feels like a clue.
In firefox when I try to go to browser settings -> search, the screen flickers and leaves me on the general page. When I type into a search box, it seems to keep resetting for every single letter I type, or maybe it starts searching too early before I hit enter.
Great plan to try fixing my PC! I took out the old key card program, turned the computer back on, and for now everything seems fine.
I had trouble with my Lenovo after a Windows update. The USB HID driver broke and the keyboard keeps sending 9 or hitting number lock. Even though there isn't even a numlock on this one, other HID drivers have helped so far. I'm not sure if Windows will break it again soon.
