I purchased a used system. *sigh* It had issues starting initially, but that was fixed. I tested the parts in another setup during that process. Most components function except the GPU. Drivers for an RX560 aren’t working, though fans spin on the card—maybe it’s okay? But there’s no image and no successful installation. I thought the motherboard or power supply might be faulty, but that didn’t help when trying to fit the RX560 in another machine either. Installing an older GTX 560ti worked fine, so it’s likely the motherboard or PSU is the issue. - Should this suggest the card is damaged? - What steps can I take to diagnose further? I’m feeling confused... GPU: AMD Radeon RX 560 4GB, CPU: Ryzen 3 3200G, RAM: 16GB DDR4, PSU: Cooler Master 700W 80 Plus (RS-700-ACAB-B1), HDD: M.2 250GB, Chassis: Kolink Inspire K5 (bad case), Board: Unclear—seems like a Medion board with MH 9310 31. Likely B350M, probably MEDION or MSI P2A4-EM AMD B350 plus MS.
After checking various platforms and systems, no visible issues appear to be linked to this problem. This suggests the issue is likely related to a non-functional GPU, which is common when purchasing used hardware without proper testing.
The integrated graphics from the CPU are functioning, and I have that covered for myself. In the device manager, the error code for the rx560 is 43.
Initially, when everything failed, I considered sending it back, but the seller suggested returning it. It would be quite inconvenient because I purchased it through an online auction on a site similar to eBay. Repackaging and covering transport costs wouldn't seem worthwhile given how inexpensive it was. The other components are valuable enough to offset any loss.
It’s probably just a sign of wear, and the fans still spinning doesn’t necessarily mean it’s broken.
I fixed my issue by purchasing a used GTX 960, which should function once it arrives. I plan to sell the damaged Radeon card, maybe someone else can repair it.
